Better or Worse…#TuesdayTen

So many things can change, in just 10 short years, and for better or worse those are the things that mold us and help us grow. Even though 10 years really doesn’t seem like such a great amount of time, that time can lead to a great amount of change, for better or worse.

Welcome to another fun and fabulous week of #TuesdayTen, hosted by a couple of great bloggers Lisa from Golden Spoons and Rabia from The Leiber Family, this week I offer my top ten changes that my life has seen in the past ten years!

The Golden Spoons

Here is my list of changes, for better or worse…

1. We were renting our house, never dreaming that we would ever be able to buy. It will be 7 years ago, this month, that we closed the deal to buy the house that we had been renting.

2. We moved into the little house that we were eventually able to buy, as a family of 5. The following year, my mom’s Multiple Sclerosis, made it necessary for her to move in with us so that I could care for her full time.

3. I did the best that I could as a caregiver, with the help and support of my hubs and three kiddos, during her time with us. She passed away 6 years ago, this past Monday.

4. In the time since my mother’s passing, I have learned to let go of childhood hurts and negativity and found strength in the woman that I am.

5. Five days after my mom passed, my beloved Uncle also passed, which was the hardest of all. He was who I learned what unconditional love was all about.

6. I was working a full time job, which I loved, and all three kids were in public school, until 3 1/2 years ago and after D-man graduated. To leave a job of 18 1/2 years to become a SAHM, Blogger, housewife and full time homeschooler was crazy and worth every minute of it!

7. We have gotten mostly out of debt…no credit cards or car payments, now. Only a mortgage and a few student loans and we are still broke, but I am thankful for what I don’t have.

8. In these past 10 years, I have watched my oldest son become an amazing man. We had our ups and downs during some of those years, but he learned every lesson that I tried so hard to teach him, even though I didn’t think he was listening.

9. I have watched my lil man grow towards adulthood, and seeing a young man who believes that living with honor as the only way to live. Knowing that he will one day be as amazing as his older brother.

10. And I am watching my lil miss, grow from that sweet lil princess loving toddler to a kind, caring, ball of fire that she is entering her teen years as. Struggling with who she is and who she wants to be, fighting to find her niche in a world of labels and stereotypes, and me loving her through it all.

What changes have you seen in the last 10 years of your life? I know my life has changed, but for better or worse, it has definitely been a roller coaster ride!

Might Not Know…

A couple of weeks ago, I was tagged by my wonderful new co-host, Victoria from Giveaways 4 Mom, in a ten things you might not know post, which you can read here! Things have been a bit crazy for the last couple of weeks, doing more baking and a couple of projects, which has kept me busy.

So I welcome you to get to know me as I offer some things you might not know about me!

My Ten Questions from Victoria!

1. What made you want to start blogging?

I started blogging, almost 3 years ago, to share a new journey as a SAHM mom and homeschooler. Maybe making a few dollars here and there, would be a bonus.

2. What are your top five blogs to read and why?

I have lots of faves, mostly because my likes can really be all over the place. I might check out homeschooling resources, or looking for a project, something yummy to fix, or just want to relax for a good read.

3. Which blogs do you stop by every week?

Generally I am running behind on my visits, I have an email file, that I am working on getting through.

4. What is the best thing about being a blogger?

Oh the friends for sure! I have met so many amazing people, in the last 3 years.

5. What do you do for fun?

I love to read, listen to music, hang with the kids, or go for drives with the hubby.

6. What is the best thing you experienced as a blogger?

Being blessed to have met some of those amazing blogger friends.

7. Did you ever see yourself being a blogger? Why or why not?

Not until I left a job of 18 1/2 years. Honestly I truly loved the job that I had, but I could not handle the management any longer.

8. What is one thing you dislike about being a blogger?

That I always run out of time! If day to day things get crazy, it puts me behind on posting and reading and commenting.

9. What is your favorite blog post?

I think, for this, I am going to have to go with my Corntassle Cottage posts, since those are mostly about things happening in daily life.

10. What is one thing that you have never revealed on your blog about yourself?

I can’t honestly think of anything, with the exception of my political views…and since I can’t say anything real positive about that, I will just keep it at that.
