I am super thrilled to be swapping with Liv from Live by Surprise! She is an amazing blogger, mom to three, and wife to a wonderful hubby who shares life’s ups and downs. She has also written several amazing articles surrounding the topic of divorce. Be sure to stop by her site and show her some love!
1. I see you participate in Turn it up Tuesday’s. For those of us not in the know – can you tell a bit about it?
Turn It Up Tuesday’s was started by my dear friend, Natasha Peter of Epic Mommy Adventures fame. We met through our blogs, and we even got started on our blogging adventure at about the same time. We had become friends, early on, and then we started our partnership on each others weekly link ups.
2. You do an impressive number of link ups. Do you have a favorite? Which one and why?
This Momma’s Meandering Mondays, of course! LOL!
No, all kidding aside…I love #AAF for all of the amazing friends that I have made and the opportunity to take part in so many others through it.
3. In your last AAF you said you had some great teachers who taught you some great life lessons – can you share one?
I had a business teacher who was for all intents and purposes a complete hard ass! He was a recovering alcoholic and could be a real jerk, unless you paid attention and got the work done. One of the things that he used to tell us though, was that everyone has a bad day sometimes, so don’t judge by that one bad day. That was just something that made perfect sense to me.
4. I know you’re a Doctor Who fan too. If you heard the TARDIS, I’m assuming you’d jump right in – when would you go?
Oh wow, that is a hard one! I would probably choose 17th or 18th century England or Scotland…those periods just fascinate me.
5. I’m turning 40 this year…and I know you’re just slightly on the other side. What did you do for your fortieth?
Nothing overly grand, but it was just right for me…got gifts from my two oldest boys, and got to go to dinner at IHOP…you can read all about it in my post, Turning the Big 4-0!
6. If you could change one room in your house, which would it be, what would you do and why?
I think that I would have to choose my bathroom, first. It is oh so outdated, with ugly panel board walls, tub surround that is coming away from the walls, and the list goes on. I would really rip it all out and start from scratch!
7. Have you ever re read a book you read as a child/teen and seen it in a completely different way as an adult? What book was it? How did you see it different?
I think that there were quite a few books, because I have always been a book junkie!
The Lorax…I realized the environmental implications, when I was older.
Danny and The Dinosaur…I realized that embracing differences would broaden friendships.
Little Bear…I realized that difficulties sometimes made one stronger.
8. You can relive one moment of your life. Which one would you pick?
My first meeting with my Uncle and Aunt! I was about 24 and they drove through town, unannounced and I was not home at the time. I would have been home that night to meet them. It was an absolute dream come true! They came back by a few days later and it was amazing to finally meet them!
9. What is your biggest fear – and have you ever attempted to overcome it?
Anxieties around people…I still have them, but I fight like hell through them and force myself to work them out.
10. Fast five favorites (and why?) – animal, food, theme park, vegetable, cooking appliance.
Animal – Penguins…they are my lil man’s favorite and even at 15 his face lights up to see them.
Food – Glazed donuts with a marshmallow stuffed in the middle, roasted over an open fire!
Theme Park – Not really a fan of them.
Vegetable – Potatoes…baked, fried, mashed, boiled…any way that they can be made, I love them.
Cooking Appliance – My beautiful red Kitchen-Aid Mixer
