I am so excited to be swapping this week with the most amazing Tamara from Tamara Camera Photography! If you have not met Tamara yet, be sure to stop by for a visit! Tamara is a warm and generous mom to two adorable littles, Scarlet and Des and wife to the very creative Cassidy. She takes absolutely beautiful photos and shares all of her warmth through her writing, even sharing her own story in the amazing complilation The Mother Of All Meltdowns! Be sure to stop by to read her answers to the questions that I sent to her for this week’s Happy New Year Ask Away Style!

AAF 37 Tamara

1. What did you do for New Year’s Eve/Day this year?

Well, I must admit that it was not very eventful! LOL! On New Year’s Eve, I baked sugar cookies off and on for most of the day and even made homemade icing for some of them, as well as some with sprinkles and some that are just plain. Then I ran to the store to grab some frozen pizza’s for the family’s dinner and cat food for the cat’s! LOL! From there we basically lazed around the house and watched the ball drop to ring in the new year!

2. Do you have any resolutions?

Honestly, not really…I mean there are things that I need to make a priority in my life…better organization and focus with homeschooling, daily life, and blogging, losing some weight, exercising, drastically cutting back on Mountain Dew, and quitting smoking…while some are more easily attainable than others I will simply take each day as it comes.

3. What was the best thing you ate at New Year’s Eve this year. (assuming you had or went to a party or maybe just otherwise)

Well it could be the yummy sugar cookies that I baked…pictured above.

I think that I will say instead that it was the very yummy ham & beans with cornbread, that I made for our New Year’s dinner!

4. What’s a resolution.. you’ve NEVER made before? (I love this question – my friend Lauren gave it to me to ask)

Well, I have never made a resolution to rob a bank or anything! LOL! 😉 Honestly, I am really bad with the follow through of resolutions. 🙂 Maybe my resolution will be that I will win Publisher’s Clearing House! LOL! Dream big, I say!

5. What was one of the most meaningful compliments you received this past year? Why was it so meaningful to you?

There have been wonderful comments from amazing blogger friends, and sweet sentiments said by my kids…but the one that gave me the biggest warm and fuzzy was a text that D-man sent me at the beginning of December. He was watching a movie called “Prayers for Bobby” and he texted me saying, “Thank you for always being there for me, and loving me, and teaching me, and always accepting me. You’re a great mom. I love you!”

It just really made me feel good…I didn’t have the best of role models, but I always remembered how sad and alone I felt, and I never wanted my kids to feel that. I think that I did it. Of course they are all great kids!.

6. Given all your experiences, insights and lessons learned from 2014, what’s the best advice you could give yourself for 2015?

Get organized and stay focused! In all areas of my life!

7. What did you do for fun or relaxation this year?

I almost always listen to some kind of music to unwind.

8. Did you take down your Christmas tree/decorations yet? How do you feel about the holiday season winding down?

Most of it came down the day after Christmas! LOL! I still have a few pieces that I was waiting on the hubby to put away, since it is a Nativity scene that his mom painted…and absolutely priceless…but it will likely all get gone tomorrow while he is at work! LOL!

9. What are some of your hopes and wishes for 2015?

I hope to get my book written and published…and wish for it to be popular

I hope that my lil miss will get her head in the school work…and wish to finish out with a cooperative year

I hope that I will be able to ramp up the blog by getting more organized and focused and wish to make a bit more money so that I can continue to stay at home.

I hope to get organized and focused making time to re-connect with an amazing community of friends that I hold so dear…and offer this Irish Blessing wish to you…

May your troubles be less
and your blessing be more,
And nothing but happiness come through your door!

10. What’s your favorite holiday and why?

Hmm…I would have to say Halloween! I love creepy music, and have seen more horror movies than I can even remember, and ghosts and goblins, and carving pumpkins! If I had lots of money…I would probably have more Halloween decor than Christmas!
