AAF 22 Bernadyn

This week, I am extremely excited to be swapping with a new bloggy buddy, the wonderful Bernadyn from B is for…! Bernadyn is a wife and momma to two cuties, who blogs about anything and everything! She has trouble sitting still and makes sure to occupy herself with multiple projects and hobbies, including baking, crafting, photography, reading, traveling, and spending as much time with her family as possible. She has dreams of becoming a published author of a cookbook with the help of her kids or maybe even a how to book to offer help to others. Be sure to stop by her little corner of the bloggy universe and show her some love and read the answers to the questions that I asked her.

1. My family is trying to be more frugal, what is a tip you could share or your favorite way to live frugally?

I absolutely love making my own home made laundry soap and other household cleaning products.

2. If you could choose only one, who would you say is your favorite Romance author? How long does it usually take you to finish a book?

I am going to have to say Catherine Coulter! I just love her historical romances! I can finish a standard 300+ page novel in a day! 🙂

3. For your family, what has been the biggest challenge with homeschooling and the greatest reward?

The biggest challenge is getting them to stay focused…lil man has started to get with it, but with lil miss it is still a bit of a struggle.

The greatest reward is watching lil man struggle with algebra and working through it until it makes sense!

4. I love your bucket list for Scotland! I’d love to see the castles one day, too. Is there anything else on your bucket list that you would like to reach in the next 3-5 years?

One thing I would love to do, is go to Massachusetts! I would love to go to Salem around Halloween time, and then on to Scituate, Massachusetts which is where my hubby’s family landed when they first came to the US in the 1600’s. There are many places that still carry the family name and it would be a great experience for the kids.

5. You have a nice collection of books you have for your children, is there any other books they have not yet read that they want to add to the list? What is the book on there that has been read the most?

Lil man, is not much of a reader…D-man always has a new book that he wants…and lil miss it is really whatever strikes her fancy in the here and now, which right now is all things Anime!

The book that has been read the most is a toss up between The Lorax, Miss Nelson is Missing, and Danny and the Dinosaur! All three of them were favorites of mine as a kid and each of the kids loved them so much that the last two lil man got as a gift for me from a R.I.F fair while they were still in public school!

6. What fall recipes are you looking forward to making that you have never cooked?

I can’t say that this really counts as a fall recipe, but I would love to make a loaf of yeast bread from scratch.

7. What is your favorite activity to do with your kids?

I love hanging out with them in any capacity! When D-man comes by to visit, that generally means that the three kids and I just sit and yap for hours together.

8. Your daughter just celebrated another birthday, happy belated birthday to her! What is something special to you that you have learned from raising a girl?

That she is really out of her mind! LOL! I always dreamed of a little girl and she is so much more than I ever dreamed possible!

9. What is a family tradition that your family has for the holidays or is there a holiday tradition you would like to start?

We always try to read “Twas The Night Before Christmas” before they go to bed and since we have started attending church we also generally attend the Christmas Eve candlelight service. I also love to make a coffee cake or Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas morning.

10. If you could trade places with anyone (real or fictional), for one day, who would you pick and why?

Well, while I really can’t think of anyone in particular…one of the lovely, heroines from one of my many romance novels, would be kind of cool! LOL! To have an adventure or two and to live in a castle, even for a day!

Thank you so much to Bernadyn for an amazing swap! Don’t forget to stop by B is For… and read her answers to the questions that I asked her! Please also take a moment to check out the other amazing link ups from the rest of the #AAF family!
