This week, I am thrilled to be swapping with Jenessa from Mothering (In Real Life) who joins us for the first time, from Nova Scotia, Canada! Jenessa is a mom to three beautiful kids and wife of 9 years. On her now public blog, Jenessa shares her struggles with depression, motherhood, and everyday life, all while being a working mom as a program assistant. She has a diploma in Early Childhood Studies with 15 years of childcare experience. As well as being addicted to junkfood and Pepsi, she also loves romance novels and anything that takes her away from housework…I would definitely take a good romance novel over housework anyday! LOL! So please help me welcoming Jenessa to the #AskAwayFriday family!
Besides Scotland, I would love to see all of the UK and Ireland, Denmark, Germany, France, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, I would love to go back to the Caribbean, and I would love to go and see Neuschwanstein Castle. The places in the US that I would like to see are New Orleans, Louisiana, Salem and Scituate, Massachusetts, Hershey, Pennsylvania, The Outer Banks of North Carolina, and I would love to go back to Custer, South Dakota, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and Emporia, Kansas.
If you can’t tell I am a huge castle junkie!
I am a historical romance junkie and right now I am reading The Masters of Time series by Brenda Joyce.
Oh I love all types of music, but rock is my most favorite. My favorites are Skillet, Metallica, Five Finger Death Punch, Toby Mac, and oh so many more! LOL!
Honestly, I would say that working together…through the good times and the bad, and having a true commitment to the marriage are they keys. My hubby and I have been together for 17 years total, but married for 12.
Oh I really wish that I was a couple inches taller and maybe a few pounds lighter, but all in all, I am pretty okay with me. 🙂
Be true to yourself, always. And make friends by being a friend.
Only one! LOL! I was super boy crazy as a young girl! I had rock musician and teen posters covering my wall.
I have even created my very own locker board on pinterest, since I am too old to have posters on my bedroom wall! LOL! My Locker On Pinterest!
LOL! I have a picky one, too! My lil man won’t eat veggies, except for potatoes, carrots, and green beans or fruit, except for apples and pineapples, unless I make him! So we do tons of cheeseburgers and fries in our family.
Another quick thing that I make is ground up a pound of hamburger, make 3 boxes of flavored rice like beef flavored or 3 boxes of Au Gratin potatoes, and sometimes throw in a bag of frozen peas and the crumbled hamburger in the rice and add some bread and butter and we have dinner and a couple of nights of leftovers. Which means a couple of nights that I don’t have to cook, just heat it up in the microwave!
LOL! All over the place! Honestly, I am a strict parent in some regards, meaning that my kids don’t back talk, they don’t act stupid out in public, they treat others with respect, and they have had a butt whoopin or two…But I am also very open and honest with my kids, they can tell me anything and everything…and they do, which can be a bit scary at times! LOL! All of my kids still hug me, give me kisses, and tell me that they love me…even my almost 21 year old.
I think that I would have to say to always listen and never judge. Even if it is something that might make you cringe! LOL! Kids are different today, than we were, and they learn things so much quicker than we did…but when you boil the issues down, they still have the same struggles of fitting in and being accepted and sometimes a friend that will always be honest, open, and trustworthy is sometimes the best medicine!
Thank you so much, Jenessa for swapping with me this week! Don’t forget to stop by her site and see how she answered the questions that I asked her. Also, please take a moment to enjoy all of the other great link up this week and get to know a great bunch of bloggers!
