This week, I am excited to be swapping and getting to know a new bloggy friend…Christy from Sweet and Savoring! Christy has a wonderful blog in which she shares her love of travel, photography, and the environment from the Hudson Valley region of New York. She also offers her take on the struggles of depression and anxiety while practicing gratitude through her daily life. Please be sure to take a moment to stop by her site and read her answers to the questions that I asked of her!
Well, there have been some major changes…20 years ago, I was married to my first hubby and had my oldest son, and was working part-time…10 years ago I had gotten a divorce from hubby number one and had been married to my second hubby for a couple of years. I had two more kids for a total of three, I was working a full time job, and my mom’s multiple sclerosis was getting worse so we were starting to make decisions on what we would need to do for her. Now my husband finally has a full time job and I finally have the opportunity to be a SAHM to my two youngest and we are in our third year of homeschooling.
I generally just make them from a box, but I love them topped with powdered sugar or I will put them in muffin tins and add a dollop of peanut butter to the center. No I have never tried a black bean variety.
I think that I would choose the train journey on the Trans Siberian railway, mostly because I am not really that outdoorsy and I think a train ride would be lovely!
I really like all of the movies, but I think my favorite is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire…mostly because it had David Tennant (of Doctor Who fame) playing the character of Barty Crouch Jr.
Oh yes, I was a huge reader as a child…I got my love of books from my grandma. I would spend the summers with her, because my mom worked, and we would ride the bus to the library in our town and I would always end up with a huge stack of books…so many that grandma would get aggravated with me, because she said I was going to hurt my back by carrying so many! LOL! I am still just as bad!
I don’t really have a designated time anymore, now that the kids have gotten older, but we used to read most nights at bedtime.
The close bond that I have with my kids, it is something that I always hoped for, and love that it is there.
Wow…this is a super hard one! LOL!
If I were to choose a male celebrity, it would be tough to choose…I would probably go with either David Tennant or Keith Harkin…mostly because one is Scottish and one is Irish and their voices are just dreamy and so are they! LOL!
As for a female celebrity, I think that I would choose either Queen Latifah or Dolly Parton…because they both just seem like truly beautiful ladies inside and out.
Spa day, spa day, spa day! LOL! Massage, facial, mani, pedi…the works! Then I would probably go out to our local used book store and drop a nice chunk of change…maybe buy a new 32 gb iPod and tons of tunes!
I have always hated the name Stacey…for some odd reason! LOL! But, I love odd names, that are not very common…Rhiannon and Dallas would probably be my two favorite.
Of the few vacations that I have taken in my lifetime…the two that stand out the most would be the cruise that I won to the Caribbean with ports of call to St. Thomas, St. John, St. Maarten, Martinique, and Barbados…the only thing that would have made that vacation more amazing was if my hubby could have gone with me.
The other vacation that would rank would be the honeymoon that the hubby and I took to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We rented a cabin in the woods that had a pool table, dart board, full kitchen, grill, jacuzzi, and a hot tub…we went through the Smokey Mountains, did a ton of tourist shopping, and even got an old time picture taken of us. One of these days we will make it back with the kids.
Now, that concludes this week’s #AskAwayFriday questions from Christy…be sure to stop by her site and read her answers to the questions that I asked her! Don’t forget to take a few minutes to get to know all of the other amazing #AAF participants!
