This week, I have the great pleasure of swapping questions with the very amazing Echo from Domain of the Mad Mommy! Echo is an amazing wife and mom who cooks, home-schools, and parents with all of the wacky insanity of a normal mom trying to hang on to that last shred of sanity! Please be sure to visit Echo and check out the questions that I asked her!

AAF 2 Echo

1. How long have you been blogging?

I started my blog in January of 2013 on blogger and finally went self hosted through WordPress in May of 2013.

2. Homeschooling is viewed many different ways. Do you consider yourself a classic homeschooler or do you mix it up a bit?

Well the past two years, I would have said classic, but I realized that it wasn’t what I wanted it to be. So, for the coming year, we will be mixing it up a bit and going with some core and some real life stuff. I am really looking forward to the change.

3. Being a closet homesteader myself, I am trying to get into more handmade/homemade products. What is your absolute favorite handmade product?

I think that I love my home made laundry soap the best, which you can read about here.

4. As a mom of 3, do you ever feel outnumbered? I only have 2 and I feel like they plan little hostile takeovers.

LOL! Not really…unless the two younger ones go shopping with me! They have a tendency to start jacking with each other unmercifully and within about 15 minutes, I am ready to kill them! LOL! πŸ˜‰

5. Seeing as how you have dealt/are dealing with the teenage years, any advice? I’m terrified!

Stay one step ahead of them! LOL! Seriously though, I have always tried to keep an open mind, through all things. I also know that I was no angel and I try to think back to some of the things that I did at their ages and pick my battles…so to speak.

6. I used to read a lot more than I do now. What is your must read book suggestion for me?

I guess it would depend on what your genre is…:)

If horror is your thing I think I would choose Usher’s Passing by Robert McCammon which is kind of based from Edgar Allan Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher.

If you dig a supernatural type of romance, the Everlastin by Mickee Madden is a good one.

If Historical Romance is what tickles your fancy you can read about my faves by Catherine Coulter here.

If it’s more of a contemporary romance that strikes a chord the one that I would have to pick is Danielle Steel’s Jewels.

And if you like something a bit more twisted then I would go with VC Andrews Heaven series, it will always be one of my faves!

7. What is your favorite thing to teach your kiddos?

I think that I would say real life things…gardening, cooking, cleaning…you know the stuff that will be prevalent in their daily lives.

8. I am a family oriented homebody. We love to sit at home and watch movies together. What is your favorite family activity?

I am a super hermit! LOL! I love having weenie roast’s in the back yard, over a fire pit, roasting glazed doughnuts, marshmallows, and making s’mores.

9. Your first little bird has left the nest! Exciting or bittersweet?

Actually, a little of both. While I love having the extra space to spread out…books and school room are now in the upstairs which was D-man’s room. I miss the hell out of him! Really if I had my way, I would be able to afford a huge lot of land and be able to put at least 4 houses on it…one for the hubby and I, one for D-man, and one for each of the lil ones so that they would always be close by.

10. What is your FAVORITE post that you have ever read/written?

Divorce…No Drama…No Trauma.
