This week I have the pleasure of joining up with Bev from Linkouture. Bev is a new mommy to a beautiful, little girl, wife, and SAHM all while creating some absolutely beautiful jewelry…check it out here! Bev and her hubby love to travel and they have even been on a trip to South America…which you can read all about her travel adventures here…Be sure to hop on over to her site and check out her answers to the questions that I asked her!

34 AAF Bev

Now on to Bev’s questions for me…

1. What does a typical day look like for you?

I normally get up around 5 in the morning to visit with the hubby before he heads off to work, after he leaves I go through some emails, answer comments, or do a bit of writing until the kids get up.
During a typical school day I get the kids up about 8 so that they can eat breakfast and shake the cobwebs out and then they start school around 9. If it is not a school day however, I generally let them sleep and get some more writing or other oddball things.
During the rest of the day, I will do laundry and other house stuff, cook, clean and whatever else pops up during the day. I try to have dinner done around 3, when the hubby gets home, and will do dishes right after. Generally in the evenings the hubby and I are watching tv or playing a video game on occasion, or I am working on my site and he is on his laptop drawing. The kids are old enough that they are really doing their own things once school is done.

2. What is the most daring or bravest thing you have ever done?

LOL! I can’t really say that I have ever done anything really brave or daring…I am really pretty boring! LOL!

3. I read this on a recent #AskAwayFriday and I really liked it: share a recent photo and tell the story behind it.

This picture was taken on February 21 of this year outside of a local Steak N Shake restaurant where I had just had dinner with all three of my kids and my hubby for my birthday. The best present ever!

4. I see that you are working to learning about living a frugal lifestyle. What have you learned so far, and what tips would you offer to others who are trying to do the same?

Really I am still learning…This year will really be a test.
This year we are going with a much simpler method of homeschooling, one that will give the kids a more rounded, hands on learning. And while they will still be learning the same academics they will be in a slightly smaller scale, but I will be adding hands on nature experiences, gardening, historical experiences, and home making, too.

5. I noticed that you love tattoos. Do you have any yourself?

I actually have 5 of them and would love to get more…

I have a rose on my right calf with a ribbon circling the stem with each of my kids’ names on a section of the ribbon.
I have a pair of fish on my left shoulder that look like Dr Seuss’ red fish and blue fish from the book “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” but they are positioned like a Pisces sign and my hubby has the same tattoo on his left shoulder that we got on our 10th Anniversary.
Then I have 3 small ones on my right shoulder a butterfly for lil miss, a music note for D-man, and a peace sign for lil man.

6. I see that you are a mom to three children. I just became a mom myself for the first time in November! What do you like most about being a mom? What do you find most challenging?

The best thing about being a mom is the hugs, kisses, and I love you’s that come with being a mom.

The most challenging I think has really been finding the time a midst the chaos of life. I feel like I missed so much during their younger years, because of having to work and take care of my mom that part of my reason for becoming a SAHM was to get a couple of those years back.

7. What inspired you to start blogging?

It really started out of a desire to share some of these new experiences with my kids and sharing this new journey as a SAHM mom.

8. What is your favorite part about blogging?

Oh absolutely the people! Hands down! I have met so many amazing and wonderful people in this blogging community.

9. What book(s) are you currently read? If you are not reading one right now, what did you read most recently?

Right now I am reading two…The Mother of All Meltdowns…which is amazing!! The Sherbrooke Bride by Catherine Coulter.

10. I don’t know about where you live, but we’ve been having a winter that just doesn’t seem to want to end! What is your favorite season, and what do you like most about it?

I think spring most of all, because everything is blooming and coming to life…weather is getting warmer and windows get opened! I live in the mid-west, Illinois to be exact and I am so over this cold, snowy, icky weather! LOL! Ready for cookouts, nature walks, and evenings outdoors.

It was great fun answering Bev’s question’s, and be sure to stop over at her place to read her answers to my questions. Also checkout some of the other Q & A’s by the other great #AAF participants!
