This week, I have the pleasure of swapping with one of our #AskAwayFriday co-host’s, the wonderful Rabia from The Lieber Family! Rabia is a working wife and mom to three, who has been published in one of the greatest books for moms…The Mother of All Meltdowns! Be sure to head over and read my questions to Rabia and her answers!
Now on to Rabia’s questions…
1. You’ve been homeschooling your two youngest for two years. What has been your biggest triumph and you biggest trial?
The biggest triumph, oddly really had only a little to do with the kids and more to do with me…I actually taught myself multiplying, dividing, adding, and subtracting fractions and kind of actually got it! LOL! But I was also able to teach it to lil man in such a way that he got it..and the same happened with the start of Algebra! Go me! LOL!
The biggest trial, I think is trying to instill a positive attitude…at these ages they have their pessimistic tendencies on occasion.
2. You’ve been blogging for a little over a year now. What has been your favorite post so far?
I am going to say this post about “Being A Mom“.
3. Your daughter is about the same age as mine (10/11?). How is she most like you and how is she most different from you?
Oh wow…How is lil miss most like me…hmm…I guess I would say that she gets some of her stubbornness from me, and she can get her feelings hurt very easy, like me. Most different I will have to go with she is very outdoorsy…and I am not even a tiny bit! LOL!
4. Your boys are older than mine. Do they ever calm down?!?! Just kidding (sort of!) What has been your favorite part of watching them grow up?
Ummm…No! LOL! I think that watching the way they both feel strongly about the code of honor that I taught them to live by. They both feel things with such a passionate heart that they are fiercely loyal and loving.
5. I see that you like to read historical fiction. Me too! Who is your favorite author?
I actually have several authors that I have collected most of their historical works…Catherine Coulter, Johanna Lindsay, Stephanie Laurens, and Jo Beverly…but I also have starts to several other author’s collections. I dream of a big library like the one in Beauty and the Beast! 🙂
6. What is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for you?
A couple of things actually come to mind…
Several years ago, when I newly a newly, divorced, single mom and a co-worker of mine anonymously gave me $ to buy groceries. I also had someone donate a medical bed to me when my mom lived with us and became bed ridden.
7. You wake up and have only 10 minutes to get ready! What do you do and what do you skip?
I suppose I would skip washing my hair, because that is no easy feat.
8. Would you rather always give bad advice or always receive bad advice?
I think I would prefer to always receive bad advice…since I am bad about listening to other people’s advice…
9. Would you rather go 100 years into the future of 100 years into the past? Why?
Oh I don’t know about this one…Part of me would love to go back in the past to meet some of my past relatives, but it would also be cool to go to the future and see if we have managed to fix things and see my grandchildren or great grandchildren.
10. Do you have a favorite charity or non-profit that you support? Tell us about it.
I don’t really have any one specifically, but, I have given to The United Way, The National MS Society, American Heart Association, Catholic Charities, American Lung Association, United Cerebral Palsy, and of course our church’s youth group.
The United Way & Catholic Charities…mainly because they are local and they have been there a time or two for my family over the years.
The National MS Society…because my mom had the disease and I truly pray for a cure…it is such a demeaning disease.
American Heart Association…because my dad had heart disease…he suffered more than 8 heart attacks in his lifetime.
The American Lung Association…because my uncle, sister, paternal grandmother, and my mother in law all died of lung cancer.
United Cerebral Palsy…I did a few bowl a thon’s as a kid to raise money.
That is all of the questions that Rabia had for me this week, be sure to stop by The Lieber Family and check out her answers to the questions that I asked her. Then don’t forget to take the time to peruse some of the other amazing participants of #AskAwayFriday!
