For those of you who have not heard of Ask Away Friday, here is the gist of this amazing opportunity. It is a fabulous way to make new friends, meet and get to know your fellow blogger friends by simply exchanging 10 questions with another blogger and then sharing those posts with your communities. I was invited to join in a couple of weeks ago and have quickly become addicted…for such a shy person, this is an amazing way to get to know people.
This wonderfully awesome opportunity is brought to the bloggy world by the amazing Penny from The Real Housewife of Caroline County and Amber from Bold Fab Mom. Please stop by and check them out, you won’t regret that you did!
This week, I have the great pleasure to be swapping with a new bloggy friend, courtesy of #AskAwayFriday, the lovely Sonya who blogs over at Saving Everyday with Sonya K! Sonya is a momma to two little sweeties and wife of almost 10 years. She is also a home schooling momma and a savings queen! Through her site she shares amazing deals and opportunities that she finds from some of her favorite place to shop. Please be sure to stop by her site and read her answers to the questions that I asked of her and show her some love!
I read that you like to listen to music. So let’s start out with a couple of music questions.
1. I read that you and your husband like the Bee Gee’s. What are your top three favorite Bee Gee’s songs?
Well, Wedding Day of course, How Deep Is Your Love, and Jive Talkin
2.What was the last MP3 album or song you downloaded?
While I didn’t actually download the whole album, but several songs from Apocolyptic Love by Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.
3. What’s one song you can put on repeat and listen to over and over again?
I actually have 3, that I have to share…
In My Arms by Plumb…(this one is for my kids)
Simple Man by Shinedown…(this one is for my boys)
And lastly Amazing Grace done by bagpipes…there is something about the sound of the pipes!
4. Who was your first celebrity crush?
I think that my first celebrity crush would have been Greg Evigan, boy oh boy, that was so long ago! LOL!
I also, read that you would like to write romance novels one day. So, let’s try a few questions related to writing and love stories?
5. If your wildest dreams could come true who would be the publisher of your romance novels (let’s put it out there and see if it comes true)?
I guess that I would go with Knopf Doubleday Publishing…they are the publishers of one of my favorite authors. Otherwise, I would give a go at self publishing.
6. What is your favorite love story from a movie or a book?
I have two for this one…Wesley and Buttercup from The Princess Bride or Beast and Belle from Beauty and the Beast…two of my all time favorite movies!
7. What does the leading man look like in your romance novel? Average Joe or Buff and Well-Built (I have this image of Fabio in my head for how most leading men in romance novels would look like)?
LOL! I hate to say it, but Fabio kind of turns me off!
For me, I think, he would be insanely wealthy and titled, but never snobbish. Very tall, like 6’4 or there abouts…deeply tanned…kind of the image of tall dark and handsome. Well built, but not hugely muscular and definitely rugged, as though a hard days work is the norm for him. Fiercely protective, but extremely gentle, dark blue, dark brown, or ice blue eyes, with a slightly square jaw and high cheekbones and dark, wavy, long hair to run your fingers through. And he would have a Scottish accent to make a girl melt! LOL! 🙂
I know you homeschool your two youngest children. I homeschool my five year old too. So here are a few homeschooling questions.
8. Are your homeschool days very structured or somewhat relaxed?
The curriculum that we currently use is fairly structured. The kids go by a specific lesson plan. I am thinking about switching things up a bit for the coming year to something a little more relaxed.
9. What would be the perfect impromptu field trip to surprise your kids with?
Either a trip out west, to see some of the monuments…Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon or out east to some old Revolutionary and Civil War sites.
10. Favorite homeschool subject to teach? Least favorite homeschool subject to teach?
Our curriculum doesn’t really require me to actually teach…they have classes on dvd that they watch for now. Though if I had to choose a favorite of anything it would be Home Economics of sorts…cooking, sewing, family finance, budgeting…kind of all of the things that it takes in daily life.
Least favorite will always be history…though I know it is important to learn…it has always bored me to tears!
Well that is all of the questions that Sonya had for me for this weeks #AAF.
