Ask Away Friday 15!

Well ladies and gentleman it is that time again, time for Ask Away Friday!

Question-Mark-pink1

For those of you who have not heard of Ask Away Friday, here is the gist of this amazing opportunity. It is a fabulous way to make new friends, meet and get to know your fellow blogging friends by exchanging 10 questions with another blogger and then sharing those posts with your communities. I was invited to join in a couple of weeks ago and have quickly become addicted…for such a shy person, this is an amazing way to get to know people.

This wonderfully awesome opportunity is brought to the bloggy world by the amazing Penny from The Real Housewife of Caroline County and Amber from Bold Fab Mom. Please stop by and check them out, you won’t regret that you did!

Now on to this week’s Ask Away Friday. This week, I have teamed up with fabulous Tia from The Chic SAHM! So be sure to stop by her “place” and read my questions to her.

1. How did you make the decision to homeschool?

A couple of years ago, while the two little ones were still in grade school, the hubby and I started researching the possibility. We of course, had dealt with the bullying issue from my oldest to the youngest, it is hard to watch other kids doing the bullying, but even harder when it is the teacher’s doing the bullying. We also watched our school district going down the tubes with poor grades across the district and we could see no end in sight. It was hard enough sending my oldest son to public school, but his dad would have never allowed me to homeschool. With the two youngest, their dad and I were of an agreement, that we wanted our children to get a real education that might provide them with a true future in life.

2.What’s the toughest thing about teaching two kids in separate grades?

Keeping it all straight in my head, you know kind of the going back and forth thing. Progress report time is probably the worst, making sure it is all graded and the right tests with the right report.

3. You like romance novels. What’s the best one you’ve read lately?

Oh my, this one is a toughie! LOL! I can’t really count one book, but more like a series or two…I am addicted to series novels. Johanna Lindsey’s The Mallory series, Catherine Coulter’s The Sherbrooke Brides series, Jo Beverly’s The Malloren series, Stephanie Laurens’ The Cynster series and The Bastion Club series…okay that is more than two! LOL! Each of these have so many aspects that with each one, I want more…adventure, dashing hero’s, fiesty heroine’s, intrigue, and best of all laugh out loud humor.

4. I have four tattoos. You love them. Do you have any? What are they?

I have 5 total and several more that I want! Come on Publisher’s Clearing House! LOL! I have three “Friday the 13th” tattoos on my right arm, one that matches one on hubby which is on my left arm, and one on my right leg that is a tribute to my kids.

The next two on my list are…

I have one more that I want, but I haven’t yet decided exactly what it will be, but it will be a memorial to my uncle.

5. What’s your best tip for a newly frugal Mom?

I am really still learning, but I would really say…do your research. For example, I just made my own home-made laundry soap, and once I see how long it really lasts then I will know if it is truly a frugal option. In my area couponing is not always a frugal plan, because none of my stores offer double coupons, none of the circulars offer products that I use, and printer ink is expensive to print them out.

6. If you could interview any famous person for your blog who would you choose?

Right now my big infatuation is with David Tennant who was the 10th Doctor in Doctor Who. With all of the push for the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, I would love to interview him for my blog…even though I know he really doesn’t have anything to do with my daily life, I just think it would be totally cool! LOL!

7. What’s your favorite meal?

My favorite meal would be one that my mom used to make for me on my birthday…a beef roast, carrots, and bisquick dumplings, with either a gingerbread or a spice cake for dessert.

8. One of your favorite things to do is listen to music. What’s in heavy rotation for you right now?

I have a totally crazy playlist with music of all types…hard rock, rock, contemporary christian, country, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 00’s. Lately though, my biggest are Slash w/ Myles Kennedy, Alter Bridge, Skillet, Casting Crowns, Building 429 and so many more. LOL! Yep, I am a music junkie!

9. What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

Oddly, our family is not really traditional for any of the holidays, it mostly depends on finances, but the one dish that we almost always have, and have had since I was little, is Pink Fluffy Stuff aka Light Cream Cheesecake. It has always been a family favorite.

10. What was the last thing that made you laugh until you cried?

I would say that it would probably have been a conversation with all three of my kids. I can get sucked into some doozies with them! LOL!

These were some amazing questions! Thank you so much, Tia for teaming up with me this week, it was tons of fun! Please be sure to stop by Tia from The Chic SAHM and check out my questions for her!
